At the beginning of Term 3 the last few classes at Taradale Intermediate had their Interactive boards installed. Many teachers have already been using Interwrite boards as part of their daily lessons for a number of years. A key focus for 2010 is to ensure all staff are trained and using their Interactive boards (hopefully in new and interesting ways).
Knowledgenet
Knowledgenet was introduced this year and is now fully up and running. Some key areas now being used by all staff include:
Daily notices (only on KK)
Calendar
Booking forms (ICT Suites etc)
Staff Release (Noting use)
Homepages
Lead teachers are also exploring the following areas (and will give direction to class teachers on suggested use):
Student Forums
Student Homepages
Learning Stories
e-Reflections
ROOM 6 HOMEPAGE (work in progress)
Video (Flip style)
Many teachers are using the new ultra portable (flip style) cameras that were purchased during Term 2. These have been used widely across the school and for a number of creative uses. In Performing Arts they have been used by students to share their learning and performances with others. This has also enabled peer and teacher reflection to be done at a later stage with more in depth focus. Teachers have also used the cameras to video students 'video diary' style in order to encourage students to be more reflective in their practice. Special cultural and sporting events are also recorded, edited and then uploaded to the school Youtube channel.
